Johnny Arrington

Johnny B. Arrington passed away November 27, 2017at the age of 64.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 32 years, Vanessa Arrington of Gun Barrel City, Texas; son Blane Arrington and son & daughter in law Justin & Kandice Van Horn if Mabank, Texas; his precious and beloved grandchildren Tanner & Jaycee Van Horn; a sister Shelah Arrington of Arkansas, brother Keven Arrington of Florida; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his mother Margie Nell Hays, father Adren Andrew Arrington Jr., grandparents Mary & Adren Arrington Sr., and J.D. & Faye Hays.

Johnny was born May 18, 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas.  He graduated from Abilene High School.  Johnny built his life around his passion of drag racing.  He owned JAB Hot Rod Shop in Gun Barrel City, Texas.  He and his son Blane enjoyed racing together at numerous tracks in Texas and throughout the southern US.  He was a proud member if the NHRA & IHRA for many years and truly loved his drag racing family and friends.  He was happiest doing anything that had to do with his race cars and drag racing.  He will be forever loved and greatly missed by his family, friends and in the local drag racing community.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday December 16th at 2:00 pm at Moorhead Epps Funeral home in Gun Barrel City, Texas.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Johnny’s life.
