Danny (Dan) Williams

Dr. Danny (Dan) Lee Williams, 62, was born on August 20, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas.  He was residing in San Marcos, Texas, at the time of his death on April 28, 2016.  He was surrounded by family as he departed after a battle with prostate cancer that abruptly took his life.  Dan was a loving husband and father and took great joy in his pastoral ministry, which spanned 38 yers and included churches in Texas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Kentucky, and Hong Kong.   After graduating from Abilene High in 1971, he attained an undergraduate degree from Baylor and a MDiv and PhD from Southern Seminary, Louisville Kentucky.  Engaging people of all walks of life, he shared his passion for living, his love of the Lord and his servant's heart with everyone he met.  He was a world traveler, loved to write and play guitar music, and was a skilled craftsman and oil painter. 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Anita, and their three children,  Clayton William, Ryan, and Nathan Williams.   He is also survived by his father, Bill Williams and spouse Carolyn, sisters Donna McCartney of Merkel, Debbie Steele of Abilene, and brothers David Williams, and Daryl Williams of Abilene.  

Services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Austin,Texas.
