Tim & I grew up just a few houses from each other.  I had the pleasure of getting "re-acquainted" with Tim later in life when our kids were at Abilene High together.  We had some good times as kids and as adults (we still acted like kids).  Miss ya man!!

Tim sat next to me in Mrs. Perry's 9th grade English class at Mann. He was always a sharp dresser, and Mrs. Perry would always look at her reflection in Tim's shoes and comment on how shiny they were. One day we convinced Tim to tell her an off-color joke, and he did. She was so upset that she left the room in tears. Tim felt terrible about it, but we were all laughing. On that day, Tim, the perfect boy, had fallen in Mrs. Perry's eyes. To this day I still remember the joke. I really enjoyed knowing Tim at Mann and at AHS. He was a special person.

I didn’t know Tim very well in school. He was in band and was artistic and talented. However, our paths crossed, again, years later when I moved back to Abilene in 1991 to work for a local bank. Tim and his wife, Lillian, owned a business that Lillian mostly ran, and they did their banking with us. Lillian sewed garments, and used her many God-given talents to help many other people who needed clothing at times. You could say this became their “ministry”. Tim was proud of his daughters. And they adored their father! RIP, Tim!

How can I ever forget Tim or the influence he had on my life. He was the first non-track friend I made in High School. He was cool and I was not, but he took me under his wing. Time was witty and funny and fun loving. I distinctly remember lunches at Burger King and taking German class together under Frau Schmidt. I am embarrassed to admit that we drove the teacher crazy by purpose speaking German with an overdone Texas accent. It's amazing how you can mangle a foreign language with a strong Texas accent. I regret that I lost contact with Tim after high school and very much miss him.
