Still hard to talk about the loss of my very best friend ever. Debbie and I became friends the summer after our 9th grade year. Not even sure how or why. I went to Franklin and Debbie went to Mann. We did everything together for a very, very long time. It was always funny when she would call me to go get a DP at Macks. I'm 5'9 1/2". Debbie was 5' tall, if she stretched. Her Chevy had a bench seat in the front; so, in order for me to fit in the front seat, I had to turn my knees toward the middle of the car or have them jammed up into the dash board. The yearly, dreaded phone call of "will you go shopping with me to find a bathing suit" always meant lots of laughter and tears. Debbie could NOT find a bathing suit to fit her . . . EVER! She finally just started having them made.
So many memories of fun times and very sad times. I miss my friend and have for the past 24 years.
Debbie was one of the great beauties in Abilene. But there was a certain sadness about her life, with all the misfortune in her family and the end of her relationship with one of my best friends. RIP
Debbie and I shared a love for horses and we spent a lot of time at Steve Jeter's farm where Debbie kept her horse. She was a super person and so fun and full of life. Love you Debbie.

Brian is right. Debbie had a very distinct look about her. She was a
beautiful person "inside and out" and a good friend to those of
us who knew her.
