Jesse Jaramillo, Island Park's beloved P.E. teacher for 11 years, passed away suddenly on August 17. Our learning community has lost a talented, kind, and kid-centered teacher, colleague and friend.

Jesse was such a nice boy! We played in band together at Franklin Junior High and we battled every week for 1st chair. It was friendly competition and we soon became friends. We lost touch in high school and I've often wondered what became of him. I didn't realize he lived in Washington state until I read it here. He wasn't very far from me in Oregon.
