My brother David is married to Brenda Odstrcil, Linda's sister. I never knew Linda that well, but I love Brenda dearly. What I do remember about Linda was her sweet face and winning smile. She always had a smile for whomever she passesd in the halls of dear old Abilene High. It was at Linda's funeral in 2001 that Burgess and I started talking about having a reunion. In a short amount of time, about 10 of us pulled off the 30th reunion. Honestly, we can thank Linda for the renewal of our friendships. Rest in peace, sweet Linda.
Linda and I lived out on "the lake road". She got her car first and I used to pay her my lunch money for gas so I wouldn't have to ride the bus. I remember the tornado that touched down in her front pasture while she stood at the front window and watched the lawn furniture fly. We had good times together, lovely fun memories.
Linda and I were very good friends for many years. We shared so many good times together at her house riding horses and next door at Jeter's farm. I will always cherish those memories.
